Our goal is to fill each workshop with no more than 12 makeup artists who are eager to learn and committed to getting all they can from their instructor and fellow artists.
To ensure an intimate and positive learning environment for everyone, our instructors and staff work with each prospective student to ensure that you are enrolling in the workshop that best supports your goals. If a class isn’t right for you, we will be honest and suggest other options (even if they’re with another school). Our commitment to a small class size also forces us to turn away artists. As a result, the following enrollment process and cancellation policies are designed to protect your spot in class and discourage last-minute withdrawals that take opportunities away from others.
Step 1: Consultation
Once you’ve reviewed the website and have a basic understanding of each workshop, we recommend a free, no-obligation phone consultation with your Colour Box instructor or one of our Colour Box alumni, who are willing to share with you their experiences in the class. Step 2: Registration
Once you’re ready to enroll, you may register for class by simply filling out the registration form found here. Your responses are kept confidential and are solely intended to ensure accurate information about you and a complete understanding of your current skill level and artistic goals. Please contact our offices if you have any questions or problems with the online form.
Step 3: Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to confirm enrollment in each Colour Box workshop. Since your deposit is used to purchase workshop tools and materials, it cannot be refunded if you decide to withdraw. Your deposit and tuition may be paid using any number of methods:
- We can take your credit card payment (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) over the phone at 323.348.4511
- We can send a PayPal invoice
- You may send a certified check or money order
Step 4: Tuition
Your remaining balance is due no less than 10 days prior to the start of your workshop. Students enrolling within 10 days of a workshop must pay the full tuition. The following prices represent your total costs (including the $200 deposit, which will be subtracted from your balance. Your tuition covers all professional products, tools and materials used in class. You will not be required to bring a makeup kit or purchase products.
- Makeup Artist Boot Camp I (2 days): $1,200*
- Makeup Artist Boot Camp II (3 days): $1800*
- Airbrush Seminar (1 day): $675 or $600 for Boot Camp alumni**
- Special FX (3 days): $1800
- Beginning Hairstyling for the Makeup Artist (2 days): $875 or $800 for Boot Camp alumni
- Advanced Hairstyling for Fashion & Film (2 days): $975 or $900 for Boot Camp alumni
* Artists who complete Makeup Artist Boot Camp become eligible for a variety or pro artist discount programs. See our Products page for a list of companies that offer pro programs to our alumni.
** Airbrush Seminar tuition includes a $75 credit toward the purchase of airbrush equipment.
Withdrawal Policies
Due to our small class size and exclusive educational opportunities, our enrollment process and withdrawal policies are designed to discourage hasty enrollments that lead to last-minute withdrawals and take opportunities from others. Should you choose to withdraw your registration, the following policies apply:
- Withdrawal: If you notify Colour Box of your intention to withdraw no later than 14 days before the start date of your workshop, you will receive a full refund less the deposit. If you withdraw within 14 days of your workshop, the full tuition remains payable.
- Transfer: There is no charge to transfer your enrollment to another workshop, provided that you notify Colour Box at least 14 days prior to the start of your current course. If you transfer to a different course, any tuition you’ve paid will be credited to the alternate course.
- Non-attendance: If you are absent from your workshop, the tuition remains payable and no transfers will be allowed.
Workshop Cancellation
In the event that your workshop is cancelled or postponed, all fees and deposits will be refunded or, if you so choose, credited to another course.
